Sale Horses

Here is a sample of some of the horses we currently have available. We will have more pictures to follow but feel free to browse their pedigrees in the meantime. We also have a selection of good using grade horses. Got a question? We'll be happy to answer!

"Buttermilk" - 2002 Buckskin Gelding
This horse is aptly named because of his light buckskin color. A real classy looking horse we've used on the ranch, have taken to ranch rodeos and he's been shown in reining. He's a real easy ride that anyone could get along with. You won't find a much prettier buckskin if you tried.

"Quill" - 2001 Buckskin Gelding
Sired by an own son of Hollwood Dun It, I've kind of adopted this horse as my main mount. He's what I've been using in the ranch rodeos and on the ranch too. He's straight up in the bridle and can flat spin a hole in the ground. Finished head and heel horse and reiner too. He's dead broke but not a dead feeling horse. He will flat out fly! By far the nicest horse on the place.

"Cutter" - 2005 Sorrel Gelding
This little horse is one of my favorites! A little guy with a big heart and a ride as smooth as they come. He's been shown in the cutting, just drop your reins and let him do the work. A perfect size for a calf or heel horse too. You won't find many young horses like this and he is bomb proof for anyone. It will be a sad day on Blue Creek when he finds a new home.

"Cookie" - 2004 Buckskin Gelding
This is a nice quiet, safe & gentle gelding we've been using on the ranch. From beginner to advanced riders he will suit any experience level. A real nice sized horse in a pretty buckskin color.

"Sonny" - 2000 Black Gelding
This horse is anything but "sunny" as far as his color goes anyway! He is a true black gelding. A good all around horse with lots of outside miles. Safe for anyone and really a fun little ride. He's been used everywhere on the ranch, just saddle up and go all day! He is fancy and classy!

"Magic" - 2006 Grey Gelding
This is one super nice grey gelding. He is big with lots of conformation. Tons of eye appeal and ready to go any way you want to take him from hunter under saddle to rope or arena horse prospect. Versatile and lots of athletic ability. He's kind and gentle and has been trained to lay down. He's a real dandy!

"Roman" - 2001 Grey Gelding
Oh man, this horse has size! A real thick boned gelding we've used on the ranch. This horse is stout (not fat!) and can work all day. Plenty of go in this guy and built to do it all without wearing out. He's a a fancy rose grey color you don't find every day.

Check Out DIRTY DIESEL!

Here is a nice 4 year old we call Diesel. This guy is fancy and sharp! We've used him on the ranch and man can he cover some country. Nice moving gelding that you can take anywhere and gentle for anyone. Arena ready or use him on the ranch, he's got the ability to do it all. A loud colored, hard to find blue bay roan with stockings, standing 15h

Derringer Hollywood "Buck" Is Going to Texas!

Congratulations Trevor & Courtney Spradley on your purchase of Derringer Hollywood aka "Buck" , we hope you enjoy him as much as we have!

Buck has been an outstanding addition to our program and we are sorry to see him go but we are comforted in knowing he's going to a great home! He's been a favorite among everyone who's come acrossed him. He is what class is all about. We've used him for spring gathers and have had him roping in the branding trap, Cliff chose him as his main mount for the ranch rodeos and is hoping for the use of him while competing in "Project Cowboy" this October.

Best Of Mr Hickory

After camping out in Meeteetse, WY after the ranch rodeo on Saturday (check back for ranch rodeo updates!) we were able to get home in time to pick up our newest addition in Billings on Sunday. We snagged up this super cute little two year old stud. His papers say it all and this colt is NICE!

This is Best Of Mr Hickory out of Mr Dual Pep out of Peppy San Badger, his dam is an own daughter of Docs Hickory out of Doc Bar. He's already been started cutting cattle and has quite a nice stop on him for only being two. When we got him home Cliff jumped him off the trailer and hopped on him bareback with only a halter and this guy rode around like a dream. We are excited to add him to our mix but if you are interested give us a call. Whether you decide to have him gelded or leave him a stud he is ready to go any direction you point him. He is shapey, calm and cool and still growing! We think he'd make a jam up calf or cutting horse or take him to futurities. Just take a look at his papers!

Welcome to Blue Creek Quarter Horses!

Welcome to our blog! We hope you like what you see! We are excited to offer solid, using ranch horses for sale. We're having quite a busy summer this year, between the horse sales, getting hay put up, ranch rodeos, clinics, competitions and getting horses rode there is not much time for anything else. We are in the works of getting a website up and running as well as putting together a clinic schedule and listing our sale horses. Please keep checking back for a list of what we have available as we are always getting in something new. Can't find something you like? Let us know and we will work to match you up with a mount that fits you and your needs.

Happy Trails!
Cliff & Jody
